There are many places where you can look for healthy eating recipes, but probably the easiest and most convenient is online. You will find many resources online such as online recipe swapping communities, forums, books, and suggestions from the Government. 

But unfortunately not all the recipes provided are really healthy. Plus, it may be a bit more difficult when you are looking for healthy eating recipes for your children.

When looking at any healthy eating recipe sites it is important the recipes they list contain the following information:

1. Ingredients and how they need to be prepared.
2. The number of servings that each recipe will make.
3. How big the serving is.
4. How long it will take you to prepare each recipe.
5. How long the recipe will take to actually cook.
6. How many calories are in the recipe and each serving.
7. The total amount of fat, unsaturated fat, cholesterol, and sodium.

Here are some ways to make those recipes even healthier:

1. Replace whole milk with skim milk.
2. Use low fat yogurt in place of whole fat yogurt if the recipe so requires it.
3. Instead of using salt, add herbs and spices to enrich the flavor of the recipe.
4. If you see any visible fat on your meat trim this off and remove the skin from poultry.
5. When using any healthy recipes that require sautéing or wok cooking, use a non stick pan and water, chicken broth, or non-fat cooking spray instead of oil.
6. If you do need oil for the recipe then use olive oil in place of your regular vegetable or sunflower oil.

You can take any recipe that you already enjoy and to make it a healthy eating recipe. All you need to do is substitute a few components for something a little more healthy instead.
